Emma’s approach to physiotherapy

We are deeply committed to the care and wellbeing of our clients, through the relationships between Therapist and client, the excellence of our treatment, and our ability to deliver effective, lasting results.

Unlike many Physiotherapy practices, we combine assessment and diagnosis with hands-on treatment, using a combination of soft tissue massage, mobilisation, manipulation and exercise. And we focus on addressing the underlying cause of the injury or dysfunction, rather than simply treating the symptoms.

Physiotherapy techniques

Massage

To aid recovery and healing, ease stress and tension, aid performance and to manage and prevent injury.

Manual therapy

Manual therapy is hands on treatment including: joint mobilisation, soft tissue release and additional techniques such as taping.

Movement & exercise

Includes strength work and personalised home exercise programmes.

Types of injuries treated by physiotherapy

  • Sciatica treatment in the early stages involves a strong focus on reducing your pain with manual therapy, dry needling, gentle nerve stretching, and spinal mobility work to reduce the sensitivity of the irritated nerve.

  • Early and acute treatment focuses on understanding the diagnosis, reduction in pain and poor movement patterns and restoration of range of motion.

  • Physical therapy helps people regain strength and movement in parts of their body after an injury. Physical therapy can also help someone manage pain and prevent permanent damage and recurring problems.

  • Physiotherapy for joint pain works in two ways:

1.Restore normal ranges of motion to the joint

2.Strengthens surrounding muscles so they can deal with loading

CLIENT LOVE

"Emma has a perfect package of skills with physio & Pilates! Her 1 to 1’s are a good way to get exercising safely. I have a number of issues and it’s the first exercise I managed to do in years that didn’t cause pain. But importantly she combines expertise with fun and is a warm and kind instructor."
